Denisse Tinoco
FRC Bilingual Coordinator
Denisse grew up in the Bay Area when her family moved to the United States. Denisse and her mom have navigated the Special Education system since 2002. First, with her own experience being assessed and provided with an IEP and currently with her younger brother’s own IEP experience. Denisse has felt firsthand, the barriers that Latinx and other Spanish speaking communities face when navigating Special Education systems and IEPs. These experiences motivated Denisse to graduate with an associate degree in political science, sociology, and psychology. She has experience working with children in academic settings through her work with Project Read, the Boys and Girls Club, and California Teaching Fellows Foundation. Denisse is passionate about helping our community and eager to work with the families of San Mateo County.
