Communication Development and Strategies to Use at Home

August 20, 2026

6:00 pm - 7:30 pm @ Online Event

Please join the Family Resource Center of San Mateo County for an informative and practical parent presentation focused on supporting your child’s communication skills at home. Learn the difference between speech, receptive language, and expressive language and typical communication development milestones. Parents will be provided with ideas for incorporating communication practice into everyday routines such as meals, bath time, play, and reading books. Practical tools to build language naturally through meaningful interactions will be explored.

Whether your child is just beginning to communicate or is developing more advanced language skills, this presentation will provide family-friendly strategies to help make every moment a learning opportunity. Time will be available for caregivers to ask specific questions.
