Ana Gomez

Family Resource Center Coordinator

Ana is the mother of two amazing boys ages 10 and 3.  Both were diagnosed with a speech delay and the oldest was also diagnosed with ADHD and mood disorder.  Finding appropriate services for her oldest son was a difficult task, particularly when support and information was lacking in her community.  The journey with her oldest son helped her be more aware of her younger son’s development and consequently helped her secure services for him at an earlier age.

Before joining Gatepath, Ana worked as a case worker for a number of non-profit agencies.  At Job Train she supported youths and adults with enrolling in vocational training and obtaining employment.  At Single Stop in Menlo Park she assisted clients with applying for safety net benefits such as Medi-Cal , CalFresh, and other community agencies in East Palo Alto.  At El Cocilio of San Mateo County she worked with the homeless population providing appropriate referrals to shelters and transportation.  Ana also worked at Nuestra Casa de East Palo Alto educating Spanish-speaking families about their rights and access to community services.

In 2016 Ana obtained her associate of science degree in Human Services from Canada College.  Ana is passionate about helping parents, providing them with appropriate services and helping them learn how to advocate on behalf of their child.
